More About Cure™ Pediatric Hydrophilic Catheters

As a parent or caregiver, you already have plenty to worry about. The catheter your child uses should not be one of those worries. The Cure™ Pediatric Hydrophilic Catheter doesn’t have any of the scary chemicals people try to avoid these days, such as DEHP, BPA, and natural rubber latex.

This hydrophilic catheter for children makes cathing less messy. Its water-activated coating lubricates the catheter, which helps reduce friction during catheterization.

Plus, this hydrophilic catheter facilitates no-touch catheterization, thanks to its textured gripper. You can advance and control the catheter without having to touch the tube itself, which may help minimize the risk of infection. Also, the tube itself does not kink when it is bent.

How Do I Use Cure™ Pediatric Hydrophilic Catheters?

Here are some helpful instructions for how to use the Cure™ Pediatric Hydrophilic Catheter.

    1. Wash hands and gather any accessories your child may need in addition to the hydrophilic catheter, such as disinfecting wipes or gloves. Position everything so that you’re ready. Make sure your child is in the best position for catheterization based on your healthcare professional’s directives.
    2. Prepare by using disinfecting wipes to clean the area prior to insertion. Additionally, you may wish to put on gloves or lay down a drape on your child’s lap for additional protection.
    3. Keep the catheter inside its packaging while pressing down on the included purified water packet. This distributes the water evenly over the length of the catheter to hydrate it and activate its lubrication coating. This should aid a comfortable insertion without a lot of mess.
    4. Open the catheter package and remove the paper over the adhesive. You can use this adhesive to hold the catheter to a vertical surface like a bathroom cabinet or wall.
    5. After catheterizing, dispose of the single-use catheter as well as any packaging or other trash.
