An example of Wellspect’s innovation and top-quality is their LoFric catheter. LoFric catheters, such as the popular LoFric Primo and LoFric® Origo™, are the only hydrophilic intermittent catheters on the market that are available with Urotonic Surface Technology™.
What is Urotonic Surface Technology™? This unique technology makes the catheter surface isotonic to urine, which may help reduce friction in the urethra. In other words, because the salt content on the catheter’s surface is about the same as your urine, LoFric hydrophilic catheters stay slippery and smooth.
Once activated by water, this hydrophilic coating keeps the entire catheterization process comfortable and safe throughout insertion and withdrawal. That means you won’t need additional catheter lubricant. All you have to do is activate the surface coating with sterile water or the included water sachet.
