What are some signs of an infected stoma?

Some common signs of an infected stoma may include:

Pus-like discharge from the stoma
Swelling
Increasing redness ("angry" color)
Rash or blisters around the stoma
Unusual color changes
Ongoing pain

If you think you may have a stoma infection or another concerning issue with your stoma, talk to your healthcare provider or ostomy nurse as soon as possible.
