First Annual 180 Medical OKC Games

June 1st kicked off our first annual 180 Medical OKC Games. It was a great way to spend a Saturday, having fun with coworkers and family while raising funds for an adaptive sporting event in our local community known as the Endeavor Games.

Raising Funds for the Endeavor Games

The Endeavor Games originated in 2000 at the University of Central Oklahoma’s campus. This event gives disabled athletes of all ages the opportunity to compete in adaptive sports, such as archery, track and field, swimming, wheelchair basketball, and more. Athletes come from all around the nation and the world to compete, including Paralympians.

Over the years, 180 Medical has come up with some unique fundraisers as a way to contribute, including bake sales, dunk tanks, and even a Pie in the Face Palooza. Plus, we’re always proud when our employees volunteer at the Endeavor Games.

180 Medical also participated annually in OU Medicine’s Corporate Challenge, which was recently discontinued. We truly commend OU Medicine and all the participating companies who made the Corporate Challenge possible.

We attribute our inspiration for the OKC Games to this event, and we’re excited to let you know more about the fun we had. Rachel, a Billing Manager at 180 Medical, played a huge part in putting together and organizing the OKC Games. We’re truly thankful for her time and efforts.

2019 180 Medical OKC Games Games

The 2019 OKC Games were held at our 180 Medical headquarters in Oklahoma City. The day kicked off with a run and walk 5K at 9 a.m.

After that, the cornhole tournament began, followed by a round of Zumba dancing, led by our Compliance Specialist Lead, Christina. We all had some good laughs and had a great time while we tossed beanbags and danced and exercised together.

Christina says, “I had such a blast at the OKC Games. It was great being able to lead a Zumba routine, and all the participants were so energetic and did an amazing job.” Christina adds, “It was amazing to see the number of employees and their families who participated and volunteered their time and talents to help contribute to the success of the event.”

A Day of Food and Fun

Throughout the day, employees got to take part in all kinds of activities, such as volleyball, basketball, and kickball.

Employees’ children got to enjoy activities of their own too, including face painting and a fitness challenge just for kids. In addition, they got to jump and play in a bounce house all day.

Phil, our amazing Sales Recruiter, manned the grill to provide a tasty hot dog lunch for all attendees.

Plus, Kona Ice, a local snow cone food truck in Oklahoma City, came out to offer their delicious flavored ices, while generously providing a portion of their proceeds to the cause.

A Successful Event for 180 Medical

Overall, we had a fantastic turnout, and so many employees helped by volunteering their time and donating to a great cause!

It was so fun to get to hang out with coworkers and watch some healthy competition. I’m thrilled we were able to raise enough funds to make a meaningful contribution to the UCO Endeavor Games! Can’t wait to make next year even bigger and better! Also, Phil’s hotdogs were the BOMB!
Westin, Account Coordinator at 180 Medical

We definitely hope to continue contributing to the Endeavor Games in whatever way we can. In the meantime, we wish all athletes the best of luck as the 2019 Endeavor Games begin on June 6th and continue through the weekend to the 9th.
